2023 UW Law Commencement in Photos

Alaska Airlines Arena hosted the 2023 Commencement ceremony for the University of Washington School of Law on June 5, 2023. Graduates arrived to a buzzing arena floor as family and friends cheered from the stands. Faculty members lined the entrance tunnel, cheering on the 282 graduates as they filed in and found their seats.

Toni Rembe Dean and Professor of Law Tamara F. Lawson opened the ceremony with the Dean’s Address as well as the announcement of the Dean’s Medalists award winners—Hannah Garland and Donald Peters. The day’s Commencement speakers included Anita Ramasastry, the Henry M. Jackson Endowed Professor of Law; Ayla Kadah, J.D. candidate; and, Raafi Styonurani, Master of Laws candidate. Five Ph.D. candidates were then hooded on stage, honoring their academic achievement, followed by graduates from the J.D., LL.M. and M.J. programs. Finally, UW Regent Leonor R. Fuller ’84 concluded the ceremony with the Alumni Address.
